Trip #20 - D23 Light Up the Season

In 2018 we were lucky enough to get tickets for the D23 Light Up the Season (fan club Christmas Party) at the Disney Studios in Burbank.  (Must be a paid D23 member to be able to get tickets.)  We had so much fun we wanted to go again.  I was so happy when I was able to get tickets!

This time the weather had been a bit different and we were wondering if it would happen because it's an outdoor event and it had been raining.  (Last time it was dry and 75 degrees!)  They actually cancelled the employee's party the night before due to rain (even though it didn't rain like it was predicted) and just had everybody go on Sunday.

(Last time we dressed in our Dickens garb.  This year we wore our "ugly" Disney sweaters.)

We arrived at the designated time (when the gates were opened), and were routed to a different parking lot than the first time. We followed everyone else to a warehouse type building where they had the D23 members wait (thankfully inside because it was still raining) until checking us in and letting us further onto the property.

We came in at a different area and were able to go straight for the Employee store where we still waited in line for over an hour.  Once we got what we wanted we headed for food.  (I think we did that last time too.)  This time we checked out the area where they had the kids rides, and the philanthropy stuff was in one of the warehouses where they build sets and make movies.  They also had a D23 giveaway booth where you spin the wheel and get a "prize".  I got a Mickey ears ornament.  It was from a previous year but I didn't care.  (It was red!)

It was getting late and they have a designed end time for the event so we went to do as much as we could.  We listened to some Christmas music and found a couple more photo ops.  We watched a little bit of the cartoons this time, but I don't remember it being Christmas related.  Eventually we had to go, but once again we had a great time and as long as we can renew our D23 membership and the tickets for this event aren't too pricey we'll go again.
