1955 Gazette

Just a quick blurb before I get started.  Yes, I've counted how many trips I've made to Disneyland.  Granted, I'm relying on my faulty memory, but I'm pretty sure I've gotten them all mostly correct.  (Especially when I only started counting in 2009 and my first trip dates back to when I graduated high school in 1985.)  And what about Disney World you say?  My sister took me when I was 9.  I remember her getting sick on the plane/by the time we got to the hotel.  I remember telling the front desk people and the ambulance ride to the hospital and back.  I remember not knowing how to dial long-distance on a hotel phone to call home (although I finally did it).  I remember my Mom catching the first flight she could to Florida from Chicago.  I remember the rental car was green.  I do not remember one little bit of the rest of the time we were there.  So when my husband and I went on our honeymoon I considered that my first trip! This year was a milestone birthday for me (50!) and my husband was trying to decide what to do for me for "the big one".  We wanted to take another cruise (we decided on our honeymoon that we would shoot for every 5 year anniversary but the 1st one passed without) so that was a possibility.  But I also hadn't been back to Disneyland on my birthday (I share my birthday with Disneyland - July 17th) in ten years.  There were other places we could go but neither of us was all that enthused and we were both jonesing to go back to the park.  (We have lots of friends who love Disneyland and we see posts and photos on Facebook of everyone's trip.) So the decision was made to take a week and go to Disneyland!
